Apple Pay is reportedly nearing its India debut, with Business Standard suggesting a launch around late September or October. The service could initially work with Visa and Mastercard credit cards, while UPI payments may be unavailable. Apple is also said to be negotiating transaction fees with major banks, with the proposed charge coming from interchange revenue rather than customers or merchants. Payments industry executive Amrish Rau expects the service to enter India this year as credit card transactions continue to grow alongside UPI.
