TVK’s maiden Budget has triggered a sharp political showdown in Tamil Nadu. Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin has accused the Vijay government of using his arrest to divert attention from key issues such as Cauvery, Mekedatu, NEET and law and order. He has also questioned whether the Budget explains how TVK plans to deliver on its election promises, while raising concerns over custodial deaths and caste-based violence.
