WhatsApp has started developing a new feature that will send in-app notifications to users on the date of the birthdays of their contacts, according to a report. The instant messaging app was spotted testing the functionality in the WhatsApp for Android Beta 2.26.27.3 update, which is said to be currently available via the Google Play Store. With the update, WhatsApp has reportedly added a new dedicated section, which will list the upcoming birthdays of the user’s contacts. This will reportedly eliminate the need for users to keep a record of their friends and family members’ birthdays in a separate calendar app.
