After six days of disruptions, the Lok Sabha finally took up discussion on the Anti-Paper Leak Bill. Leading the government’s case, MoS PMO Jitendra Singh said the legislation aims to ensure faster action against paper leaks and appealed to all parties to support the Bill. He also cited instances of paper leaks during previous governments and in several opposition-ruled states.
The Congress, however, dismissed the proposed law as an “eyewash.” Priyanka Gandhi launched a sharp attack on the government and questioned the appointment of the new Education Minister during the debate.
