Sony has said it will “cautiously” move forward with its plan to end physical game disc production in 2028. During its latest earnings call, the company acknowledged backlash from users, but said it would press ahead with its plan. Sony announced this month it would stop making physical discs for new PlayStation games starting January 2028.
