The anti-NEET movement has reached a critical turning point.
After being shifted to a private hospital, Sonam Wangchuk released his first video update and indicated that he may soon end his hunger strike. But his latest letter to the Centre has also sparked debate, with several of the movement’s key demands appearing to be softened.
The earlier demand for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation has now been reframed as a call for the government to consider his resignation. Similarly, the demand for ₹1 crore compensation for every family that lost a child following the alleged NEET paper leak has been revised to seek adequate compensation.
