In an emotional appeal, Jharkhand student leader Devendra Nath Mahto said Sonam Wangchuk’s movement inspired him to launch his indefinite hunger strike over the JPSC-JSSC recruitment controversy. Mahto said he was motivated by Wangchuk’s peaceful protests and believed that if a non-violent movement could force authorities to listen at the national level, Jharkhand’s students too deserved justice for their concerns over recruitment irregularities.
