A day after being arrested for allegedly assaulting doctors and hospital staff, Shinde Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre was shifted to a hospital after complaining of chest pain and high blood pressure, triggering allegations of VIP treatment. As doctors who were allegedly assaulted claim they are receiving threat calls and remain too traumatised to return to work, questions are being raised over whether political influence is shielding the accused from accountability.
