Tensions flared at KDMC-run Shastrinagar Hospital in Dombivli after Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) corporator Ramesh Mhatre and his supporters were accused of assaulting doctors and nurses following a dispute over the unavailability of NICU beds.
According to hospital staff, a female doctor, two other doctors and three nurses were allegedly attacked during the confrontation. Following the incident, medical staff launched a strike, demanding strict action against the accused and better security for healthcare workers.
