Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth over ₹4,700 crore in Chandigarh, spanning healthcare, education and road infrastructure. Calling Chandigarh a “model of development” for India, he said the city’s growth benefits the entire northern region, including Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
