Skyroot Aerospace Co-founder and CEO Pawan Kumar Chandana described the successful Vikram-1 launch as a historic moment for India, saying the mission showcased the immense potential of Indian talent and the country’s rapidly growing space-tech ecosystem. Thanking the Skyroot team, ISRO, IN-SPACe and the government for enabling private participation in the space sector, Chandana said the achievement was particularly significant as a 100% designed-in-India, 100% manufactured-in-India rocket reached orbit on its very first attempt. Calling the launch an emotional and suspense-filled journey, he said “everybody’s heart was beating for India” as the mission progressed, and hailed the feat as a milestone not just for Skyroot, but for India’s ambitions in the global space industry.
