A section of the newly inaugurated ₹6,695-crore Pune-Mumbai Expressway Missing Link suffered a collapse after heavy rain, forcing the closure of one lane on July 6. Debris from the affected tunnel section disrupted traffic on the corridor, which was opened only weeks ago to bypass the accident-prone Khandala Ghat. While the Mumbai-bound carriageway has now reopened, the incident has sparked serious questions over the project’s durability and construction quality.
