During an NDTV debate, the Shiv Sena defended Mhatre’s medical admission, saying he suffered a genuine health scare and that the law had taken its course with his arrest. The party also maintained that disciplinary proceedings had been initiated, while the NDTV’s Shiv Aroor questioned the delay in action, the absence of stronger public condemnation, and concerns raised by doctors who say they remain traumatised and fearful after the alleged assault.
