A key accused in the brutal rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl in Kolkata’s Baruipur has been killed in a police encounter. According to police, accused Pravash Mondal was taken to the crime scene for reconstruction when he allegedly tried to snatch a policeman’s firearm and escape, prompting the police to open fire.
