A fresh political row has erupted between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka over the alleged encounter deaths of three men accused of poaching in Karnataka forests. The DMK has moved a Call Attention Motion seeking a fair probe, compensation and jobs for the victims’ families, while AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami has backed an inquiry and sought higher compensation. Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar has hit back, saying Tamil Nadu should handle its own affairs. Karnataka BJP chief BY Vijayendra has demanded an impartial judicial inquiry and formed a five-member fact-finding team to visit the spot. The dispute has now intensified into a wider Tamil Nadu-Karnataka political confrontation.
