India is set to test its first tokenised corporate bond issuance, with state-backed power financier REC expected to issue bonds worth less than Rs. 5 billion using the digital rupee for settlement. The pilot, being conducted with the RBI and SEBI, will explore whether distributed ledger technology can make corporate bond issuance and settlement faster.
