Rhiya Ahir, the Mumbai woman whose image standing in front of a police van during the CJP protests went viral, has opened up about the moment that made headlines. Recounting the incident, she said she saw a van packed with detained students, questioned police about the detention process, and decided to block the vehicle because she felt she “could not let them go”. Calling it a matter of duty as a citizen and student, Ahir said she acted on instinct and stood her ground until the students were released.
