Google’s latest Gemini update broadens its reach beyond Google’s own ecosystem by linking the AI assistant with services used for bookings, music, home services and healthcare. The rollout comes as Gemini crosses 1 billion monthly users, with Google reporting growing use of voice, Gemini Live and image generation. The company is also preparing to phase out Google Assistant on Android, with Gemini set to take over as the default assistant on eligible devices from September.
