Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele struck in the second half to fire France to a 2-0 win over Morocco in the first quarter-final of FIFA World Cup 2026 in Boston. Mbappe made up for a penalty miss in the first half by opening the scoring from the edge of the box in the 60th minute. Dembele doubled France’s lead in the 66th minute with a goal from outside the box. Mbappe suffered an injury scare late in the match. For Morocco, goalkeeper Yassine Bounou was the standout, making multiple superb saves. With the win, France have made it to at least the semi-finals in three successive World Cups for the first time ever.
