A Delhi court has convicted former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain and three others in the 2020 Delhi riots case related to the murder of Intelligence Bureau officer Ankit Sharma. The accused were found guilty on charges including murder, kidnapping, rioting, and promoting religious enmity. Following the verdict, Ankit Sharma’s family sought the maximum punishment, while the BJP accused the Aam Aadmi Party of backing Tahir Hussain during the riots. The AAP maintained that Hussain was suspended soon after the FIR was registered against him.
