Congress MP Manish Tewari tells NDTV that China’s growing lead in critical frontier technologies – from AI and semiconductors to robotics, quantum computing and genomics – should be a major concern for India’s strategic planners. He argues that China’s ability to invest, innovate and manufacture these technologies at scale is itself a profound geostrategic statement. Tewari says the nature of warfare has fundamentally changed, with battlefields moving from an “informationized” to an “intelligenceized” environment. His warning: India must rapidly build technological capacity because “you can’t fight the battles of tomorrow with the weapons of yesterday.”
