OpenAI has started rolling out ChatGPT for Teens to eligible users aged under 18 on personal Free and paid plans. The experience uses age detection to apply additional protections and includes tools such as Study Mode, quizzes, homework guidance and scheduled Study Hours. Parents can manage selected settings through linked accounts without accessing conversations. OpenAI has also added stricter safeguards for sensitive content and reminders to take breaks. The teen experience may end when ChatGPT identifies an account holder as 18 or older.
