The Centre has begun reaching out to key Opposition parties in an effort to build political consensus on the contentious issue of delimitation.
According to sources, the government has held discussions with the Samajwadi Party, the DMK, and the Sharad Pawar-led NCP. The DMK is learnt to have sought assurances that Tamil Nadu’s political interests will be protected before taking a final position.
