Anthropic has started hiring Research Engineers for its Chip Design RL team at the company’s San Francisco and New York City offices, seemingly confirming the company’s plans to foray into designing custom AI chips in-house. An Anthropic spokesperson reportedly confirmed the development to a publication. The tech firm will reportedly co-design hardware and models, which is said to enable the Claude models to “run faster and more efficiently” at the scale required by Anthropic’s customers.
