Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was briefly trapped inside a lift at a private hotel in Thiruvananthapuram while arriving to attend the installation ceremony of the Rotary Club of Trivandrum East. Fire and Rescue Services personnel rushed to the spot and used a hydraulic spreader to open the elevator door and safely bring him out.
