Mumbai is on alert as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for the city, warning of more heavy rainfall. While overnight showers have not caused major waterlogging and road, rail, and air services remain largely unaffected, the fresh spell of rain comes amid growing concerns over the city’s civic infrastructure. Recent incidents of tree falls, potholes, flooding, and building collapses have intensified scrutiny of the BMC’s monsoon preparedness, with several parts of Maharashtra, including Nashik, also witnessing heavy rainfall.
