Dr. Anita Ramesh, Head of Department at Saveetha Medical College, strongly condemned the assault on doctors and hospital staff by Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre. Speaking during an NDTV debate, she expressed outrage over any perceived defence of the accused and called for strict accountability in cases of violence against healthcare workers. Dr. Ramesh also raised concerns over allegations of VIP treatment and misuse of medical grounds to seek legal relief, stressing that attacks on doctors must be dealt with firmly and without political influence.
