The all-party meeting ahead of Parliament’s Monsoon Session ended in a dramatic walkout by Opposition parties despite Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju’s appeal for cooperation and constructive participation. Rijiju urged all political parties to ensure the smooth functioning of Parliament and participate in legislative business. However, the Opposition, led by the Trinamool Congress, walked out in protest over the recognition of rebel MPs and the pending disqualification petitions.
