GATE is expanding beyond engineering and technology, offering humanities and social science students a pathway to postgraduate education, research and academic opportunities. Through the Humanities and Social Sciences (XH) paper, candidates from economics, English, linguistics, philosophy, psychology and sociology can compete for opportunities at IITs and other institutions. With a valid score usable for three years, GATE is emerging as a bridge between humanities disciplines, interdisciplinary learning and advanced research careers.
