FMGE June 2026 row: NBEMS refuses to lower qualifying standards, proposes major exam reforms

The June 2026 FMGE has triggered protests after just 12.38 per cent of candidates qualified, prompting calls for relief and a review of the paper. NBEMS has said genuine concerns will be addressed but the competency threshold will remain unchanged. An expert panel has instead proposed reforms including three FMGE attempts a year, better centres and greater transparency.
