A 105-year-old woman in Assam’s Sivasagar district remained stranded inside her flood-hit home for nearly a week as rising waters cut off access and delayed evacuation efforts. Having lived through some of Assam’s most devastating disasters, including the 1950 earthquake and recurring floods in Upper Assam, the centenarian has once again found herself battling nature’s fury.
