Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Chief Global Affairs Officer Joel Kaplan have issued an absolute, high-level apology to the Government of India. This comes after a crisis was triggered due to algorithmic failure and digital overreach. An explosive investigation by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights exposed that Meta’s automated advertising engine accepted money to actively run and boost paid advertisements featuring AI-generated Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
