WhatsApp is testing an AI content label for channel updates on iOS, allowing admins to disclose media created or edited using artificial intelligence. The feature is available to some beta testers through TestFlight with version 26.34.10.70 and follows its rollout on Android. Admins can add the label through an update’s context menu, after which it cannot be removed. WhatsApp may also detect some AI-generated media automatically. The feature could be particularly relevant in countries where AI disclosures are legally required.
