Tamil Nadu’s newest political rivalry is escalating rapidly as Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin has hit back at Chief Minister Vijay following his detention over the Trisha controversy.
Calling the police action a “diversionary tactic” and describing the TVK government as a “government of fake news and reels,” Udhayanidhi insisted that his remarks were not intended to demean or insult any woman. The DMK has accused the Vijay government of political vendetta, while the TVK maintains that it is sending a message of zero tolerance for derogatory remarks against women.
