Rescue operations continue nearly 18 hours after a tunnel collapse in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district left seven people dead and 14 injured. Three workers remain trapped as rescuers race against time to reach them. SDRF, NDRF and other agencies have been deployed, with heavy machinery being used to clear debris and drain water from the tunnel. A total of 22 workers were inside when debris and water surged into the tunnel on August 13. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the ongoing rescue operation.
