The Uttar Pradesh government has directed the UPESSC to conduct a separate Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for in-service teachers, aiming to provide them with more opportunities to meet eligibility requirements. The decision comes ahead of UPTET 2026, which will be held from July 2 to 4, as the state intensifies preparations to ensure a fair, transparent and smooth examination for nearly 20 lakh candidates.
