The UGC has issued comprehensive pedagogical guidelines to help higher education institutions create a more inclusive learning environment for Divyangjan students and persons with specific learning disabilities. The recommendations extend beyond physical accessibility to include flexible curricula, accessible study materials, diverse teaching methods, disability-specific classroom support, examination reforms, assistive technologies, mentorship, and campus-wide inclusion measures. Universities are also encouraged to monitor enrolment, retention, and academic outcomes to strengthen equitable access and participation in higher education.
