Nepal Flash Floods: NDTV At Ground Zero, Road To Tibet Border Cut Off

NDTV is at ground zero in Nepal’s Nako district, where devastating flash floods have left villages destroyed and roads buried under silt. In Vidur village, locals are desperately searching for family members and friends as rescue teams struggle to reach the higher mountain areas. Continuous rain, worsening weather and darkness have hampered helicopter sorties and ground operations. The road leading towards the Tibet border is now impassable, with the worst destruction feared in the higher reaches. Rescue operations are expected to resume tomorrow morning as authorities race to reach stranded and missing people.
