N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, has decided not to seek reappointment when his current term ends on February 20, 2027, bringing a defining chapter of the Tata Group’s modern history closer to an end. From a 15-acre family farm in Tamil Nadu to the top of the Tata Group, Chandrasekaran’s journey spans nearly four decades. He joined Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in 1987, became its CEO in 2009 and took charge of Tata Sons in 2017 following a major boardroom battle.
