Myanmar Civil War Death Toll Tops 1 Lakh

Myanmar’s civil war has crossed a devastating milestone. More than one lakh people have now been killed since the military seized power in the 2021 coup. Fighting between the junta and a patchwork of pro-democracy and ethnic armed groups has turned Myanmar into Asia’s deadliest active conflict. Millions have been displaced, while the same number of people are in urgent need of humanitarian aid.
