Meta, in a new blog post, confirmed that users who attempt to cover the white light that blinks while the AI glasses are recording will find their camera disabled. Beginning with the second generation of glasses, the camera is automatically disabled if Meta detects that the capture LED has been blocked. The update follows widespread privacy concerns surrounding the use of smart glasses in public spaces. Meta assured that it is working to remove ads, posts, and Marketplace listings that advertise tampering services.
