Loopring has shut down its decentralised exchange and automated market maker after citing weak adoption, limited business development, and increasing competition from newer zkEVM solutions. The Ethereum scaling pioneer, which launched one of the first zk-rollup implementations, said it will distribute users’ remaining balances to their Ethereum addresses. The closure adds to a growing list of crypto projects winding down operations in 2026 amid changing market conditions.
