International Youth Day 2026 is being observed under the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations”, highlighting shared aspirations for education, opportunity, decent work and a sustainable future. As artificial intelligence changes workplaces, students need skills beyond technical knowledge. Data literacy, prompt engineering, critical thinking, adaptability, emotional intelligence, creative problem-solving and AI ethics can help young people prepare for changing careers. Global initiatives, including S&P Global’s $10 million StepForward programme, are also supporting AI education and workforce readiness.
