IIT Madras honoured 1,842 NPTEL Stars from South India during a campus event recognising outstanding achievement in online learning. The January-April 2026 semester recorded 36.8 lakh enrolments and 10,763 NPTEL Star awardees nationwide, including 8,011 first-time recipients. The institute also highlighted the NPTEL Pre-Doctoral Fellowship and the NPTEL-GATE portal. Learners and faculty shared experiences on how the platform has supported higher education, research opportunities and continuous professional development.
