After a successful engineering and corporate career, IISc alumnus Gowri Shankar founded Vasudha Aqua to address India’s growing water crisis through household greywater recycling. His compact system treats water from showers, sinks, washing machines and kitchens for reuse in gardening, toilet flushing and cleaning. By encouraging homes to recycle water instead of wasting it, the innovation highlights how simple observations can inspire practical solutions, promoting sustainable water conservation one household at a time.
