Former Solicitor General Harish Salve has strongly backed the US Department of Justice’s move to seek dismissal of the case against the Adani Group. Citing the DOJ filing, Salve said the agency found no investor losses, questioned the very basis of the securities charges, and described the indictment as a “name-and-shame” exercise with little realistic prospect of reaching trial. He added that it would be “extraordinary” if the court were to reject the DOJ’s recommendation.
