Long before luxury trains became symbols of indulgence, one remarkable railway journey connected cultures, cuisines and communities across the subcontinent. India’s first air-conditioned train, which ran between Peshawar and Colaba in 1937, passed through some of the most culturally vibrant regions of the undivided country. Along the route, flavours from different cities, cantonments and communities blended together to create a unique culinary legacy. At Noor Mahal, that forgotten culinary story has been brought back to life through the Frontier Meal experience. Inspired by the railway route and the people who travelled and worked along it, the menu celebrates dishes and traditions that once connected regions now divided by international borders.
