Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the alleged disrespect of Vande Mataram during a Congress Independence Day event. Abdullah said there was no controversy as all three verses of the national song were sung and acknowledged that it may take some time for people to get used to the change. The remarks come after a complaint was filed with the Delhi Police seeking an FIR against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi over alleged obstruction while Vande Mataram was being sung at the party headquarters.
