Global PC Shipments Fell 4.9 Percent in Q2 2026 Amid RAM Shortage, Apple Gains Ground: Report

Global PC shipments declined 4.9 percent YoY in Q2 this year to 68.2 million units, according to the latest IDC report. This is the first decline after nine consecutive quarters of growth, and the memory chip shortage is the key reason behind the fall. Additionally, storage and geopolitical issues also continued to weigh on the market. Lenovo came in the top spot with 24.4 percent market share, followed by HP, Dell, Apple and Asus.
