Schools remained closed across several districts in India today, July 9, as heavy monsoon rainfall prompted local administrations to suspend classes to safeguard students. Closures were announced in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kerala and Karnataka, with some districts shutting all educational institutions and others limiting the suspension to specific grades. Meanwhile, Delhi, Noida, Mumbai and Pune did not declare city-wide school holidays, and educational institutions continued normal operations unless individual schools announced otherwise.
